The Spartanburg Alcohol & Drug Abuse Commission (SADAC) was established in 1971 by Spartanburg County in South Carolina and Spartanburg City Councils. It works to reduce human suffering from alcohol and tobacco addiction by providing and promoting education, intervention and treatment services. The commission is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The Spartanburg Alcohol & Drug Abuse Commission is licensed by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control as an outpatient facility for chemically dependent and addicted persons and as a community residential care facility for nonmedical detoxification. Its prevention department provides evidence- and science-based services that target drug abuse and HIV infection prevention. The commission also offers a variety of outpatient intervention, supervision, treatment and referral services.
