Hesby Oaks School is one of 849 schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. It is a public school that serves about 400 students in grades K-8. With strong principal leadership, teacher quality and parental involvement, Hesby has become a community favorite. Students also participate in field trips to Astrocamp and Catalina Island for learning opportunities outside the classroom.
Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies sells just about anything a pool owner needs to maintain their pool. Much of the store is devoted to cleaning supplies and accessories like chemicals, sanitizers, nets and automatic pool cleaners. Water testing kits and strips, or electronic testers, are available. Pool covers that keep pools cleaner and help regulate their temperature can be purchased. Parts and components of pool heating and pumping systems are also sold here. The staff can order any part or system that are not carried in the store. Store displays are filled with pool toys and flotation devices. Spas and hot tubs are sold, but the store does not offer a showroom. The store has longer seasonal hours during the summer, and limits its hours starting in the fall.
The Encino Huntington Learning Center offers tutoring for students in kindergarten through 12th grade, as well as test preparation. Subjects covered include reading, writing, mathematics, study skills, vocabulary and phonics. For test preparation, courses cover SAT, ACT, state testing and high school entrance exams. Students receive one-on-one attention in order to catch up or get ahead in school. Diagnostic testing helps place students at their appropriate level and guides the certified and highly trained staff to where students need help. With parents' permission, Huntington staff can meet with a child's teachers or guidance counselors to communicate the child's progress and coordinate a strategy for success.

Karen's Toys, behind the escalator at Encino Place, is jam-packed full of toys and games for children of all ages. The aisles are stacked high with many popular name brands, as well as smaller brands that are harder to find. Different sections indicate toys for babies and toddlers, dolls, action toys, educational toys, games and puzzles. The store has been here since Encino Place opened and under the current ownership of Ron and Karen Sclar since 2008. The website for the store offers on-line shopping, with specials and some items not found in the store. Customers can purchase tickets at the counter for the carousel in front of Encino Place.
Encino Glen is a golf course located on Burbank Boulevard. It has an 18 holes and a driving range onsite. Call to make a tee time or just come by; there is plenty of free parking. I is also home to the Monterey Restaurant, a dining option after playing a few rounds. Golf carts are available for rent.
