Queens Adult Learning Center is one of the many centers run by the Office of Adult and Continuing Education, which comes under the New York City Department of Education. The center offers various educational programs, including the adult basic education program and career and technical education programs that include office technology, computer careers preparation, Web design and health care and technical careers. The center also provides various support and instructional services, such as career and child care information, individual sessions, job referrals, parenting workshops and life management instruction. The Office of Adult and Continuing Education is a provider of adult literacy and family literacy education services in the New York City and offers more than 750 classes throughout the city in schools and community-based organizations.
