Acterra is an influential environmental organization dedicated to finding local solutions for a healthier planet. Offerings include an environmental leadership program; the Business Environmental Awards and Climate Heroes, which recognizes local green leaders and carbon reducers; Green@Home, which helps local residents reduce their home energy usage; and stewardship and fiduciary programs. The stewardship program restores damaged habitats to fully functioning healthy ecosystems. Acterra has worked to restore the Arastradero Preserve, San Francisquito Watershed and Redwood Grove Nature Preserve. Gunn is a high school that offers a wide range of academic options for its diversified body of students. In addition to Advanced Placement and honors courses that provide rigorous preparation for college, Gunn also provides numerous resources for students with disabilities or who have limited English proficiency. The athletics program at Gunn is very robust, featuring traditionally popular sports like football and basketball in addition to badminton and golf. It also boasts numerous activities and clubs.

Rabbi Ari Cartun leads services in Hebrew and English for a congregation of more than 300 households. Services are held Fridays and Saturdays and attract a diverse population of Jews from varying socioeconomic background, ages and sexual orientations.

The Unitarian Universalist Church is a spiritual center for theists, atheists and agnostics alike to come together in a community centered around spirituality, social justice and a welcome environment for all ages.
