Founded in 1962 by John F. Gaumer, the Gaumer Company started as a sales organization selling only Chromalox products. The company was reorganized in 1974, by Jack McClanahan, and became one of the largest distributors of process electric heaters in the Southwest. By 1982, the Gaumer Company had expanded its services throughout the United States and had begun to develop a line of process heaters, process heating systems, and process control assemblies. The products were all designed and manufactured at the plant in Houston.
