Camp Avenue Elementary School, one of the three elementary schools in the North Merrick School District, serves approximately 540 kindergarten through sixth grade students. The average class size at Camp Avenue is 22 students.

Camp Avenue was built in 1923 and has undergone two expansions; one in 1939 and one in 1956. Recent improvements to the school include a renovated art room with additional storage space, expanded mural work in the main lobby, reconstructed front steps at the main entrance and several new Smart Boards and digital readers available for teacher and student use.

The principal is Ronald Reinken, and the PTA presidents are Alison Casey and Mary Faulkner.

The Norman J. Levy Lakeside Elementary School is affiliated with the Merrick Union Free School District. The school is located in Merrick, N.Y., and has an enrollment of more than 720 students. The Harold D. Fayette Elementary School was built in 1950, and serves 300 students in K - 6th grade in North Merrick. Howard Merims is the principal of the school.

There is a PTA that handles fundraisers and also serves the community, through their coats for the homeless program and toy drives. The PTA sponsors the Fall Festival, and the end of the year Fun Day. Students may participate in a walking club at lunchtime.

Students who participate in the WINGS program, for gifted students, are bused to H.D. Fayette Elementary to participate in the program. The Bellmore-Merrick aftercare program is held at the school, for those needing child care (ages k - 6), for a fee.

The school utilizes smartboard technology in select classrooms. Also, ESL is offered, and special ed students are supervised through the inclusion program.
