Located in Ithaca, N.Y., Challenge is a private, nonprofit agency that provides employment services to individuals and employers. Established in 1968, Challenge serves individuals with employment barriers, such as individuals with disabilities, low educational and skill levels, economic barriers, and lack of social and communication, basic technological and job seeking skills. It offers a wide variety of business services, including assembly and packaging, mail processing, microfilm and document digitization. Its assembly and packaging department handles carton packets, custom fixturing, hand assembly, folding, gauge testing, heat sealing, shrink wrapping, sorting, stapling and trim sealing. The organization s mailing service offers design assistance, delivery to post office and electronic transmission of mailing lists. The microfilm service includes film processing, engineering drawings, and silver and diazo duplication. Challenge s clients include the Cornell University, Emerson Power Transmissions, Ithaca College and Marietta Corporation.
