Sonoscan, established in 1973, has been the industry leader and innovator in AMI technology. Sonoscan develops and manufactures instruments that cover the gamut of needs to nondestructively inspect and analyze products (especially microelectronics devices). Originally licensed through Zenith Radio Corporation, Sonoscan introduced the world s first commercially available AMI system, the Scanning Laser Acoustic Microscope (SLAM), in 1975 and, thereby, ushered in an important new field - AMI. .
