Founded in 1974, Star Trac is a manufacturer of cardiovascular exercise equipment for consumers. Its line of fitness equipment includes the Pro Treadmill with built-in fans, upright and recumbent stationary bikes, elliptical trainers and stair-climbers. The company is partnered with Mad Dogg Athletics, the creators of the Spinning exercise education program that accompanies the Spinner bike manufactured by Star Trac. The company has developed such equipment accessories as the patented Impact Absorption System, Sport Utility Display, Pro Partner and user-controlled fans for treadmills and bikes. The company s headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Irvine, Calif. Its nearly 100,000-square-foot facility features 6,640 square feet of research and development laboratories, while nearly 18,000 square feet are devoted to executive and administrative offices. A 55,000-square-foot manufacturing area houses the company s assembly lines, electronic assembly, metal fabrication and weld shops.
