Break The Barriers, formed in 1987, is a nonprofit organization, including the performing ensemble of students who break all barriers experienced by people with different abilities. It is a combination of performers, ranging in age from 6 years to adult. More than 3,000 students participate in the programs offered at its facility, including students from over eight school districts. The organization has a more than 30,000-square-foot facility, is recognized as the national role model for inclusion, and has broken barriers nationally and internationally. Break the Barriers also offers various programs for persons with disabilities. Various programs offered by the organization include aquatics, art, buddy program, gymnastics, dance, health and fitness, martial arts, and sign language. It is headquartered in Fresno, Calif.
