Captain Harvey L. Bennett has been running the Tackle Shop for almost 30 years. Now located on Montauk Highway in Amagansett, just before the Napeague Stretch, this small shop has everything a fisherman could want, regardless of skill level. From fishing poles to bait, surfcasting tackle to fly fishing equipment, Captain Bennett has it all, and also buys and trades equipment. His knowledge, though, is what's really invaluable. He's also offers charter and guide service.
The Tack Trunk, the only horse apparel and tack shop in the greater East Hampton area, is on Main Street in Amagansett. The Tack Trunk has been in business for 16 years. Erica Walter, an East Hampton native who grew up riding in Amagansett, bought the business a few years back. This shop is fully stocked with items for equestrians to horse lovers, from brushes to riding jackets, jodhpurs to horse treats. It also carries a few luxury equestrian-inspired handbags, clogs and accessories.
