Founded in 1973, the Adventist Health System is one of the largest, nonprofit Protestant health care providers in the United States. It supports and strengthens Seventh-day Adventist health care organizations in the southern and southwestern U.S. The organization works with a team of more than 43,000 employees. The Adventist Health System supports over 35 hospitals in nearly 10 U.S. states that have approximately 6,000 licensed beds. It serves more than 4 million patients annually in inpatient, outpatient and emergency room visits. The organization practices in the areas of psychology, oncology, neurosurgery, radiology, pain medicine pediatrics and orthopedics.
