Cañada College is a community college high up in the hills of the Peninsula. It offers an affordable option for earning Cal State University and UC transfer units. With only 6,000 students, it is one of the smallest community colleges in the Bay Area, allowing for more attention towards each individual. Through its University Center, it also offers bachelor's degrees. Cañada College offers degrees for those who wish to pursue careers in medical assisting, radiologic technology, multimedia, early childhood education, fashion design, interior design, human services, accounting, business technology and many other fields. It is one of the highest-achieving community colleges in the Bay Area. While it is also a community college, Cañada College allows high school students to take courses beginning in their sophomore year so they can essentially complete their first two years of college for free. The Middle College High School program offers an alternative to high school students from the Sequoia High School district who prefer a non-traditional education. The Upward Bound Program provides Sequoia High School students the opportunity to take classes to advance their education.
