Family owned and operated, Schmitt's Family Farm is seasonally open to the public, in both spring and fall.
Their springtime greenhouses offer a wide variety of flowers, annuals and perennials. Come fall, Schmitt's Farm is a destination for fun for the entire family. Daytime Fun includes pumpkin picking, hayrides, a corn maze, Long Island's largest hay pyramid, farm animals, pick your own vegetables and much more. The fun continues when the sun goes down. Spirits and ghouls rise up in their Haunted Corn Maze and Long Island's top rated Haunted Mansion.
Schmitt's Farm also hosts weekday educational field trips in both the spring and fall.
Schneiders Farm has been a fixture of the Dix Hills/Melville community since the late 1950s. The farm grows its own corn, pumpkins, vegetables and flowers. The roadside farm stand, added in the late '70s, sells its own home-grown vegetables and produce. The farm and farm stand is open from mid-April to Christmas Eve. In spring and summer, find a beautiful array of plants, flowers, vegetable plants, herbs and hanging baskets. Summer adds fresh vegetables and produce. Come fall, you will find fresh corn, mums, scarecrows, hay bales and apples, and you can pick your own pumpkins off the vines in its vast fields. As Christmas approaches, Schneiders also stocks Christmas trees and holiday wreaths.
White Post Farms is a farm wonderland. It is open year round and includes a petting zoo and animal farm, a gourmet farmers' market and a garden center. The Farm's indoor and outdoor animal farm feature many species of animals from around the world. There are playgrounds, pony rides, gemstone mining, a Farmland Express train ride and much more. All the plants sold in its garden center are grown at its Melville greenhouses. Here, you'll find a large variety of indoor and outdoor plants, annuals, perennials and more than 40 different varieties of vegetables and herbs. The White Post Farm Gourmet market serves local fresh fruits, vegetables, gourmet pies, breads, sandwiches, salads, juice from its juice bar, sushi and many other homemade products. In addition to hosting an annual Fall Farm Festival, complete with hayrides, children's shows and pumpkin picking, an annual Holiday Extravaganza and an annual Easter Egg Spectacular, White Post also can host birthday parties, fun and educational field trips and various fundraisers throughout the year.
