San Luis Obispo / California / United States
KSBY-TV is the NBC affiliate in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties and made its on-air debut in May of 1953. It went on the air, however, as KVEC-TV. The VEC call letters stood for Valley Electric Company. KVEC-TV was the first local television station built in the Central Coast of California. In 2002, KSBY-TV was purchased by New Vision Group; an Atlanta based broadcast owner and operator, and in 2005, KSBY-TV joined the Evening Post Publishing Company becoming the eleventh network affiliated television station in the broadcast section of the company: Cordillera Communications. For those in its viewing area, KSBY is one of the main sources for news, sports, weather, movies, and more.
