Horses Healing Humans is an organization that offers equine-facilitated therapeutic services which provide individuals with the opportunity to work with horses. There are both mounted and un-mounted psychotherapy programs, as well as adult, youth and family progarms that can be tailored to each individual's specific requirements. Horses Healing Humans also offers a specialized program for veterans of any age, in either group or individual sessions; all persons engaged in equine activities are required to wear boots with a heel of at least 1/2".
The Town of Stonington Tax Collector's office is responsible for the collections of local taxes including real estate, personal property and motor vehicle. Real estate and personal property taxes are due July 1 and January 1 each year. Motor vehicle taxes are due July 1. This office also manages and coordinates the taxpayer guide and various other forms.
One of the oldest thrift stores in Stonington, the Como Thrift Shop carries an extensive, ever-changing collection of clothing, shoes and accessories for the entire family as well as housewares, furniture, toys, gifts and decor. Proceeds support the Stonington Community Center.
Built in 1852 and declared a National Historic Landmark in 1996, this house is justly famous. The square and ornate white and green structure occupies a commanding spot with excellent views. The Palmers used to identify incoming ships from the cupola.

The Town of Stonington's local municipal government is based on a town meeting style of government. The town encompasses Stonington, the borough of Stonington, the village of Pawcatuck and parts of the villages of Mystic and Old Mystic. The first selectman's office and the majority of the town's departments and services are located inside Town Hall.
