Queensbridge Houses is one of the largest public housing projects in the United States. The project covers an area of more than 29 acres. It includes over 10 six-story buildings that have nearly 1,600 apartments. Queensbridge Houses serves approximately 3,500 residents. The project is owned and operated by the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), which is governed by The City of New York. The authority offers a range of housing solutions for low- and moderate-income residents throughout the city. It is one of the largest public housing agencies in North America. In addition, the agency provides opportunities to participate in various community, educational and recreational programs.
