The Division of Regulatory Boards is a part of the Department of Commerce and Insurance, which is administered by the state government of Tennessee. The division is responsible for licensing and regulating professionals and businesses in the state. The Division of Regulatory Boards is authorized to take disciplinary action against license holders who violate laws governing their professions. It includes the accountancy, alarm systems contractors, auctioneer commission, and architectural and engineering examiners boards. The division s collection service board is responsible for initiating investigations, enacting rules and regulations, and granting, revoking and cancelling licenses. The Division of Regulatory Boards board of cosmetology provides licenses and registrations to cosmetologists, instructors, aestheticians, manicurists, shampoo technicians, natural hair stylists, and cosmetology shops and schools.
