Contemporary Arts Center is a multidisciplinary arts center offering presentation, production and promotion of art. The center organizes exhibitions, performances and programs, and encourages collaboration among diverse artists, institutions, communities and supporters. Since 1976, the Contemporary Arts Center has been home to artists experiments in painting, theater, photography, performance art, dance, music, video, education, and sculpture. The center s award-winning building provides more than 10,000-square-feet of gallery space offering exhibitions throughout the year. In addition, the center and local performers stage various plays, dance events, music concerts and performances in its two theaters. The center offers workshops to introduce youth to art in the rehearsal hall and art lab. The center offers contemporary materials, open spaces and site-specific art works created by Louisiana artists.
