The North Strabane Township Fire Department is overseen by fire Chief Mark Grimm. The department is dedicated to providing fire prevention and education, rescue services and emergency medical care.
The North Strabane Fire Department includes five career and 30 volunteer members, and operates out of two stations. The first station is located on Washington Road and the second is located on Thomas Eighty-Four Road and operates with a fleet of nice vehicles.
North Strabane firefighters meet Monday evenings throughout the year (and some weekends) and supports fire prevention. The department placed third in the State of Pennsylvania along with Canonsburg Fire Department for fire prevention. Residents can call for a Station tour, block party visit, birthday party or any type of other service. The Fire Department is always looking for new members.
The Weldon Fire Company is one of five volunteer fire companies that comprises the Abington Township Fire Department. Its chief is Bud Gerhard.
For nearly 100 years, the Llanerch Fire Company has provided fire protection and safety services to the residents of Haverford Township and the surrounding area. It holds open house events for the community to teach young children about fire safety using a controlled fire demonstration.
Unity Volunteer Fire Department located on Old Leechburg Road in Plum Boro is one of the 4 Volunteer Fire Departments in Plum. This all-volunteer staff services a 29 square mile area. In addition to their fire fighting services, they also have a quick response medical service unit that assists Plum EMS. The Willow Grove Volunteer Fire Company has served the Upper Moreland and neighboring communities for over 100 years.
The company has two stations, both located on Davisville Road, and staffed by both volunteers and career firefighters, as employed by Upper Moreland Township.
Full-time firefighters are on duty during the week and the day, while volunteer firefighters are on call and on duty at night during the week and throughout the weekend.
Washington Fire staffs a team of professional and volunteer fire fighters. They work to fight and prevent fires and respond to other problems in the community. The fire house also offers a hall available for rentals. The facility features a full bar with an ice machine and a full-service kitchen.
The Radnor Fire Company is located on South Wayne Avenue, across from the post office. This fire response company offers fire and EMS services, and is available 24 hours a day for emergencies. The fire company has five full-time firefighters and several volunteers, and has been in existence since 1904. It is also greatly involved with the community, hosting several fundraising events every year and organizing an Adopt a Hydrant program. Led by Chief Ken Hurley, the East Whiteland Fire Company provides fire, HazMat, rescue, basic life support EMS and fire police services. It also provides educational and outreach services to residents in Charlestown Township, East Whiteland and the surrounding areas.
