The Kewaunee County Sheriffs Department maintains social order and peace, as well as provides law enforcement services. It undertakes various criminal cases and works with other state, local and federal agencies to ensure public safety and the exchange of information between law enforcement officers and the public. The Kewaunee County Sheriffs Department supports the Crime Stoppers program, which is affiliated with the National Crime Stoppers Organization and provides opportunities for citizens to report illegal activities to volunteers of the program. The office has a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team that specializes in bomb disposal and hostage and barricaded gunman situations. The Kewaunee County Sheriffs Department is located in Kewaunee, Wis.
