The Orangewood Childrens Foundation, founded in 1981, is a nonprofit organization that is governed by a volunteer board of directors that is comprised of more than 30 business and community leaders. It works to provide long-term solutions for child abuse issues. The foundation supports and conducts a variety of programs that offers emergency assistance, job placement, transitional housing, peer counseling and scholarships for college and vocational training. The Orangewood Childrens Foundation strives to transition emancipated foster youths, support children in foster care and strengthen at-risk families. It administers various auxiliary outreach programs, such as 44 Women for Children, Orangewood PALS and Orangewood Jaycees.
