Red Ball Oxygen is among the largest independent welding and industrial gas suppliers in the Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas areas. The company s gas products include medical, special, industrial, bulk and welding and industrial supplies. Joseph R. Daniell founded Red Ball Battery in 1930. The company soon became a distributor for National Cylinder Gas. In 1947, Daniell Battery Manufacturing was derived from Red Ball Battery Company. In May 1969, the Kennedy family acquired the Welding Supply portion of the company and the Red Ball Oxygen was founded. In 1972, the Kennedy family also purchased Red Ball Battery. Red Ball Medical was later spun off to handle specialized medical needs. Red Ball s operations include a modern cylinder filling operation, a full-service welding equipment repair center, a palletized cylinder distribution system, and 13 customer service branches in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.
