Ahold USA, with headquarters in Landover, Md., also owns and operates Stop & Shop, Giant-Landover, Gianst-Carlisle and Tops. Tops primary markets are Buffalo and Rochester, N.Y., as well as markets in Cleveland and Northern Pennsylvania. The Tops Market concept began in Niagra Falls, N.Y., in the 1920s. The supermarket group was acquired by Ahold in 1991.
