Rick Sumner, along with his wife Yvonne, started Sumner Construction in Wasilla Alaska in 1983 with the philosophy that delivering a quality product on time, on budget, and standing behind his work is the only way of doing business. Over the decades the company has been continuously involved in the construction of hundreds of homes and commercial properties in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley and as far afield as Fairbanks, Juneau, and even northern Nevada.
Rick and Yvonne involved their children, who were born and raised right here in the Mat-Su, from an early age in all aspects of the construction process. Now, after forty years in the construction industry, Rick is in the final process of handing over the business to his highly capable and educated sons Jesse and Max. They have pledged to carry on in the same tradition and to be hands on through the whole process from site selection, plan development, to the final finish, and to stand behind their product 100%.
Sumner Company has many "in house" plans and the drafting skills and CAD programs to adjust them to your specifications or even design your dream home from scratch. We build homes of the latest style using the latest proven technologies. We build in many of the most popular subdivisions in the Valley or will build on a lot of your choice.
