Opened in 1979, Mid-America Science Museum was conceptualized as the first interactive, informal learning environment in Arkansas. Located at Hot Springs, Ark., the museum spans an area of 65,000 square feet. The permanent exhibits available at the museum include architectural structures, mirrors, underground Arkansas cave, Tesla demonstration, nature trail and cretaceous park. Additionally, it holds programs, such as Sermon from Science and leaders in museum education (LIME). The Museum partners with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for its space education programs. Mid-America Science Museum is ideal for field trips, educational programs and science activities.
