The Janesville Country Club was the sixth country club started in the United States, the second started in the Midwest and the first started in Wisconsin. Sired by a Scot, Alexander Galbraith, the club began with balls and clubs directly imported from Scotland. The Janesville Country Club was the site of the 1994 Wisconsin State Golf Association Mens Amateur Championship. It was also the host of the 1997 U.S. Open Qualifying Round. The club offers an 18-hole golf course. It also provides a full driving range with chipping and sand practice facilities. The facility s heated Olympic-size swimming pool provides a diving well and is adjoined by a heated childrens pool. The Janesville Country Club is located in Janesville, Wis.
