The First Taxing District Water Department of Norwalk operates a water treatment facility at this location. Since 1929, it has owned two reservoirs in New Canaan. The water is piped to the filtration plant and then disbursed to residential and business customers in New Canaan, Norwalk, Westport and Wilton.
