Broadlawns Medical Center is an acute-care hospital that serves the medical, surgical, pediatrics and psychiatric needs of patients in the Polk County area of Iowa. The hospital has more than 50 members on its physician staff. Broadlawns Medical Center has a family practice residency program that offers clinics and outpatient services and a center housing, a grant-funded program at its Hickman Road campus 10 minutes from downtown Des Moines, Iowa. The center is also served by the areas transit service, MTA. Broadlawns Medical Center is funded through a variety of sources. The largest revenue portion comes from the Polk County property tax levy. In addition, the center receives funds from Medicare, Medicaid, federal and state grant programs, contracts and private donations.
