While this might not be the neatest, most organized or biggest of the Asian markets, Sunny Market Place's selection and service is second to none. Cambodian run, the staff is engaging and the selection of fruits and vegetables is fresh and numerous.
With more fruits than the other markets, Sunny Market Place features persimmons, pamelo (Asian grapefruit), papaya, dragon fruit, tamarind, guava, rambutan, lychee, Lady Finger bananas, mango, Asian pear, and more. A fruit plate of those previous mentioned fruits will awaken your taste buds with their sweet and sour characteristics. Try them Asian style, by first dipping the fruit pieces in chili-salt.
A few other things that set Sunny Market Place apart is their selection of leafy greens, which includes Chinese kale, leaf celery, chrysanthemum, garlic chive, mustard green, morning glory, sweet basil, flowering cabbage, lemon grass, taro leaves and pea tendrils. They also have an assortment of exotic drinks such as cans of soursop, coconut, aloe, and mangosteen juice. And if you like eggs, pick up a carton of quail eggs here; boil them, coat them lightly with salt and pepper, and enjoy! They're a real savory treat!
