Centro Asturiano de Tampa was established in 1902 and has been a well-known social and civic club for the Cuban community. Centro Asturiano is a three-level building with the first floor as a basement and recreation area with a gymnasium, a cantina for cards and chess and a billiard room. The Magic Emporium is a Tampa-based magic shop. The store carries a full line of magic tricks and supplies. Specific products for sale include props and kits, card decks (gimmicked, ungimmicked, forcing), DVDs, books, balls and cups, paddles and hot rods, packet tricks, juggling supplies, novelty and joke items, and magazines. Gift certificates are available. Clients may also purchase items through the Magic Emporium's website. All major credit cards are accepted.
The Tampa Federation of Garden Clubs is an organization comprised of 11 garden "circles" from neighborhoods across the city. More than 400 members participate in garden club activities with the mission of beautifying the neighborhoods in which the members live. The Federation's building stands on prime South Tampa real estate, fronting on Bayshore Boulevard and extending one full block in depth.
The Federation sponsors flower shows, garden tours, floral design classes and beautification projects throughout the city. The "Earthly Paradise Garden Tour" in the spring is one of the most popular events and helps raise funds to maintain the Fred Ball Park that is adjacent to the Federation location.
Mary Jo's Performing Arts Academy offers performing arts lessons, including voice, theater and dance for kids and adults of all ages and skill levels. Dance classes offer a variety of dancing styles and acting classes prepare students to work in film, television and on stage. Musical theater and instrument classes are also offered, as are private lessons and birthday parties.
