The East Brunswick Performing Arts Center, located at the Hammarskjold Middle School, is an auditorium owned and operated by the East Brunswick Public School District. It sits 1,000 and features all the latest amenities. These include a sound system, hearing assisted devices, robotic lighting, data projection screens and dressing rooms connected to the stage. The East Brunswick Cultural Arts Center is home to Playhouse 22 and the East Brunswick Community Players, a community theater and performing arts group that presents new and classic shows. After a four-year absence, Playhouse 22 moved into its new home on Cranbury Road. It is a non-profit organization run by volunteers.
Center Stage Dance & Theatre School has 12,000 square feet of performing arts space, which includes a dance room, voice room, music room, homework area and a theater. It offers vocal, dance, theatre and acting programs. The school performs its "main stage" productions at the State Theatre in New Brunswick. Originally established in 1976, it's located in Tices Lane Center on Tices Lane in East Brunswick.
