Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation, a worldwide technology company with a long history of pioneering advancements in aerospace, aviation, helicopter design, climate control, elevator design and hydrogen fuel cells. Sikorsky helicopters occupy a prominent position in the intermediate to heavy range of 11,700-pound to 73,500-pound gross weight helicopters. The helicopters are used by all branches of the United States armed forces, along with military services and commercial operators in more than 40 nations. The company leads an international team that produces the S-92 helicopter and its military variant, the H-92. It is also a prime contractor in the U.S. Armys UH-60M program, which will eventually involve the recapitalization and modernization of nearly 1,200 BLACK HAWK aircraft during the next 25 years.
