The Heritage Square Museum both encapsulates and chronicles Southern California culture and lifestyle at the turn of the 20th century. Unlike traditional monolithic centers, this museum is a collection of eight Victorian homes and structures -- a restored and preserved neighborhood. Guests are literally immersed in the early 20th Century. Hourly tours run from noon to 3pm during normal museum hours.

The Hollywood Heritage Museum sits in the Lasky-De Mille Barn, across from the Hollywood Bowl on Highland Avenue. The barn was built in 1895, and the Hollywood Heritage Society took it over in 1985. The society funds the preservation, maintenance and acquisition of memorabilia in the site, which was designated a California State Historic Landmark in 1956. The museum houses memorabilia from Hollywood's "heyday", the Silent Era. Pieces include photographs, movie props and production documents, as well as photos and postcards of Hollywood itself from the twenties and thirites. The museum is sometimes closed for Hollywood Bowl events and can be rented for parties, premieres and other special events. Adult admission is $7, and children under 12 are free.
