Mondloch House Shelters, a part of New Hope Housing established in 1978, is the oldest and largest provider of shelter beds throughout Northern Virginia. It provides shelter, nutritional meals, and transitional and permanent housing to homeless individuals with mental disorders. The services offered by the center include case management, mental health assistance, dental services, counseling, life skills classes, recreational activities, community-based events, and social and cultural programs. The facility is owned by the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and operated under a contract with the Department of Family Services. Founded in 1978, New Hope Housing is a community-based organization that provides a variety of services for homeless families and single adults. It is one of the oldest and largest providers of shelter beds in northern Virginia. The organization offers shelter, transitional and permanent housing solutions for senior citizens. New Hope Housing operates more than five emergency shelter programs that provides over 110 shelter beds and an additional 20 beds during winter season. The organization offers a variety of employment, community outreach and children programs. It provides mental health assistance, medical care, educational assessment, family counseling, employment training, job placement, and recreational, social and cultural programming services. New Hope Housing maintains one of its offices in Alexandria, Va.
