The Wilmont Farms are adjacent to the Rancho Sierra Vista Equestrian Center. It is a horse breeding and boarding farm with bays for more than 400 horses. It has a team of trainers that assists clients with training of their animals. Many of the clients show in racing and equestrian competitions in Southern California and the United States. There are trails, jumping courses and paths for the horses to train and exercise. Mary's Tack and Feed, a popular horse supply shop in Del Mar, has a smaller satellite shop in this compound. The farm is close to downtown San Juan Capistrano and Interstate 5.
The J. F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Center is one of the largest and most respected accredited therapeutic riding programs in the country. The Center is located at the north end of San Juan Capistrano on Oso Road. It offers therapeutic riding classes for riders with physical and neurological disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, and developmental delay. Riding and doing activities on the horse (called hippotherapy) improves the rider’s strength, balance and coordination.
The Shea Center staff includes licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists. The certified therapeutic riding instructor team is composed of seasoned equestrians specifically trained to work with special needs clients. Extensive training is offered to help volunteers become familiar with horses as well as people with special needs.
The Sycamore Trails Stable has been owned and operated by the Hanson family for over25 years. This area of southern California is known for its love of horses and all things equestrian. Many of the Olympic gold winners for Team USA come from this area. The Sycamore Trails is a place for you to board your four-legged friend and a place to ride. It has trails in this beautiful valley location that's not far from the town center. There are also riding/jumping courses on the property. Sycamore also offers lessons for riders of all levels: beginners, advanced and professional. There is a small tack shop on premises for supplies and gear.
The City of San Juan Capistrano is located in the heart of the equestrian community. Tar Farms is a privately owned family farm that rents stables to horse owners. Some of the horses boarded here are used for casual recreation; others may be prize winners that compete nationally.
Tar Farms is situated on one of the main trails of the city's interlinking horse-trail system. In addition to boarding, Tar Farms offers western reining, working cows, hunter/jumper and dressage regimes. Its instructors teach classes and periodically host free or low-cost seminars and clinics to those who board their animals at the stables. The farm has several rings and jumps for horses to train.
Dana Smith Show Team provides training and lessons for horses and horse owners. The facility includes a riding area, grooming facility and more. Its staff is not only professional, but everything is fairly priced. Longtime and new horse owners are welcome. Parking is located near the horse stalls.
The Ortega Equestrian Center is located in the center of town, yet it has the feel of being out in the countryside. OEC hosts the boarding of horses and western training for riders. Classes are clustered by ability from beginner to advanced. The center hosts riding competitions and sponsors riders for other horse shows in the Southern California area. There is also a small tack shop on the premise. The center has different jumping courses and long distant trails for longer rides.
The Rancho Sierra Vista Equestrian Center is located in one of the most pristine valleys in the San Juan Capistrano area. It is also conveniently located not far from the downtown area and Interstate 5. It is a clean and safe equestrian environment and home to more than 1000 horses that train and are housed here. It recently celebrated its 30-year anniversary.
Owned and operated by local resident Patty Harris, the center also is home to a satellite shop for Mary's Tack and Feed, a popular horse supply store located in Del Mar.

Cindy Forrest Performance Horses are located on Avenida De La Vista. They provide boarding, training and other services for horse owners. Forrest Cindy Performance Horses has a facility with a riding area, boarding area, cleaning and grooming facility and more. They have a professional staff and are very courteous. They charge fair prices for their services and welcome all horse owners. Parking is located near the horse stalls.
