The City of Meriden Housing Authority provides nearly 1,400 units of subsidized housing for moderate- to low-income Meriden residents. It manages five apartment complexes: Mills Memorial, Community Towers, Chamberlain Heights, Johnson Farms and Yale Acres. It also gives vouchers for subsizided rent in privately-owned buildings throughout the city. With ongoing renovation and rebuilding projects, the entity's 39 full-time staff members are always in motion. They also provide services for residents, like savings programs, computer and literacy training, teen activities, daycare and employment training.
