H. E. Williams, Inc. was started in 1921 by Harold E. Williams in Carthage, Missouri. At that time, the company was known as H. E. Williams Products. For the first few years, the company produced various items such as kitchen utensils, static signs, cold storage lockers and even bicycle parts. By the mid-twenties, the company had settled into making various gadgets for automobiles such as folding luggage racks which would mount to running boards, canopies for rumble seats, radiator bug screens, underslung creepers and seat cushions. By the late 1930s items such as gas and radiator caps, sun visors and antennae were being produced, all under Williams patents. The 1939 Worlds Fair introduced as a new technology, fluorescent lighting. H. E. attended the fair and immediately set his mind to creating and manufacturing fixtures to house the new light source. By December of 1939 he was ordering machinery to manufacture lamp brackets. For more than 60 years, Williams fluorescent fixtures have been sold around the country for schools, offices, hospitals, retail establishments, warehouses and industrial applications.

KLEERTECH was established as Technical Sales and Services in 1985 to serve its customers as a sales organization. It was not long before it recognized a consistent and growing demand for high-quality products at reasonable prices. After only two years in business, Technical Sales and Services shifted operations to become a manufacturing entity. As a manufacturer of name badge holders the company can make offers and make certain claims other distributors of name badge holders cannot. Since then the company has established itself as one of the top providers of name badge holders and meeting supplies. Looking to expand its offerings to the marketplace, it acquired Kleerco, a New Jersey-based company specializing in the manufacture of acetate nametag badge holders and event ribbons. With new products management decided that changing the company s name to KLEERTECH was the optimal way to combine the equity from the original companies and still launch a new image. KLEERTECH is located in Fenton, Mo.

Sutherland Lumber Company has a unique family-owned heritage that lives on today. As one of Americas first building supply stores, Sutherlands pioneered many business practices common to the industry today. Founded in 1917 as a house-pattern yard, Sutherlands learned about rig timbers, cement by the trainloads and corrugated iron by the carload while realizing opportunities in the Oklahoma oil fields. As times and priorities progressed, Sutherland found itself carrying products of value to farmers. The company then began stocking materials like tools and hardware in areas where customers could pick and choose what they needed. In the 1960 s, Sutherland was a full hardware store. Today, Sutherland Company is a fully stocked lumber and hardware store that carried tools, hardware, paint, roofing, windows, doors and a complete line of building materials. Sutherland has stores throughout the United States. Its corporate headquarters is in Kansas City, Mo.
