Nucor Steel-Berkeley s Beam Division produces 4 -14 hot rolled wide flange shapes, standard beams and standard channel. The mill is located in the southeastern United States near Charleston, S.C. The mill is serviced by two railroads and located near three interstate highways: I-20, I-26 and I-95. The division also has a deep-water dock facility on the Cooper River. This port can service ocean-going barges as large as 575 feet long and 90 feet wide. Nucor Steel-Berkeley s Beam Division began casting and rolling material in 1998. The rolling mill has an annual capacity of more than 700,000 tons. Its melt shop utilizes the continuous casting process.
