The Central Investigation Section, a part of the Operations Bureau of the Rochester Police Department, is responsible for coordinating liaison activities with regard to criminal investigation. It operates a major crime unit that investigates homicides, suspicious deaths and shooting incidents. Located in Rochester, N.Y., the Central Investigation Section is also responsible for conducting periodical meetings of attorneys and local judiciaries.
