The University Park Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that prevents crime, protects residents lives and their property, suppresses criminal activity, and apprehends and prosecutes offenders. It maintains a crime prevention unit that coordinates meetings to discuss crime prevention, presents demonstrations and hosts community events that promote partnership between the community and police. The University Park Police Department also has a victim service unit that provides services to survivors, witnesses and families of the victims of death, serious injury, violent crime and natural disaster. Located in Dallas, the department is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
