Ed Irving and Bob Greenberg carefully cultivated their vending truck business into what is now a 24-location restaurant chain that specializes in, among other items, their signature frozen fruit drink. In the beginning, you might have met Ed or Bob serving their lemon eegee’s drink in front of high schools, at sporting events and concerts. And today you can still order the same lemon eegee’s that Bob and Ed first started selling in ’71. Fortunately, there are now more flavors to choose from (lemon can get old after 46 years) and you can order a sandwich or other baked goods to complement your eegee’s, but it’s essentially the same cup of brain-freezing fruit goodness that was served truck-side more than 40 years ago.

The idea began around a dining table in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2007. With the husband and wife team in search of healthy options to fit their busy schedule, and meet their health demands, the duo pioneered the marriage of convenience and health. Eating out at traditional restaurants left them lethargic, with stomach aches or worse. They identified that low quality products, hidden ingredients, imbalance of calories and chemically made products contributed to these negative impacts in the body. They envisioned a place that welcomed customers with all different definitions of health: Calorical, vegan, vegetarian, carnivore, and allergies. Their vision included use of high-quality, nutritious products, cooked with healthy methods, in a convenient format. After finding that only poor choices existed, they decided to take their nutritional and business experience, determination, hard-work ethic and style, and provide an option for the community by forging a new path in the quick serve restaurant sector. d’Lite Healthy On The Go was born!
