Microseeps was founded in 1984 by a group of former Gulf Research & Development Company employees, which included the Director of Geochemistry, Dr. Robert Pirkle. The founders were utilizing geochemical methods as a means of oil and gas exploration around the world. These methods, and the equipment utilized to implement them, formed the basis of Microseeps initial work at the Savannah River site, a nuclear facility operated by the Department of Energy. Microseeps is among the leaders in the development of specialized analytical methods to support Monitored Natural Attenuation and other in-situ remediation techniques. Microseeps has developed new methods and overcome several technical challenges for performing geochemical analyses on soils and ground water at sites throughout the world. The company is based in Pittsburgh.
