Laboratory For Atmospheric and Space Physics goal is to make discoveries through the research and technology effort of its atmospheric, space physics, solar, planetary, engineering and mission operations divisions. The lab has been an active participant in the United States space program since the early 1950s and is funded primarily by NASA. Members of the lab conduct fundamental research in the atmospheric and planetary sciences, develop space instrumentation and create computer information systems for space operations. It is also a part of the University of Colorado, giving undergraduates and graduate student the ability to participate in research projects while working on academic degrees. Laboratory For Atmospheric and Space Physics maintains facilities in Boulder, Colo.
