Books and other resources are available to all residents, but only those in the Judiciary, County employees and members of the State Bar may check out materials. The California Business and Professions Code section 6300 et seq. and a seven-member Board of Trustees govern the Law Library.
The collection is comprised of California and Federal statutes, codes, regulations, and cases, practice materials and research references, San Mateo County Ordinance Code, and Municipal Codes of cities, towns and communities within San Mateo County.
