Built in 1921, Chinatown Branch Library operates as a Carnegie library. In addition to collections in English the branch offers books and other materials, including magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs in Chinese as well as a medium size collection of Vietnamese language materials. The large Asian Interest collection in English specifically focuses on China, Chinese culture and the Chinese in America. The library also maintains an extensive file of pamphlets, newspaper and magazine articles on Chinatown s history and issues of concern to the Chinese/Asian American community.

Jewish Community High School of the Bay is a coeducational, college preparatory institution. It serves students in grades 9 through 12. The school conducts classes in math, science, English, history, Jewish studies, Spanish, French, visual and performing arts, and health and physical education. Its facilities include an art theater, outdoor courtyard, basketball court, library, classrooms, and science and language laboratories. Jewish Community High School of the Bay also participates in various interscholastic sports activities that include soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, golf and tennis. The school has literary magazine, digital media and social clubs. In addition, it conducts various cocurricular events, such as musical concerts, theater productions, art fairs and field trips. Located in San Francisco, Jewish Community High School of the Bay employs more than 35 staff members. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
