Lutheran Church of the Cross is both a church and day school located in the Shore Acres neighborhood. Members meet Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings for a blend of contemporary and traditional services. The church has a variety of programs and activities throughout the week, from study groups and classes to preschool, elementary and middle school at the church's day school.
Trinity Lutheran Church, located at its current site since the 1920's, was the first Lutheran church on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Since then, the church has held regular services every Sunday as well as community outreach programs and special events throughout the week. Trinity Lutheran has developed local housing in the downtown area available to seniors needing financial assistance. In addition to its weekly services, the church serves as a meeting place for various local groups, including the St. Petersburg Stamp Club, Narcotics and Alcoholics Anonymous and GLBTQ.
