J. Alan Dyer founded NewPros Communications as Prospects Unlimited in November 1985. The company offered a local lead source for Columbus, Ohio, small businesses and sales agents. It experimented with several types of prospects lists before starting its homeowner reports for Franklin County, Ohio, in July 1987. The new homeowner reports appealed to a broader market and eventually the other prospect lists were dropped and the company specialized solely in the new homeowner reports. Prospects Unlimited expanded to cover all of Ohios major counties and into central Indiana following the purchase of a major competitors accounts. In November 1993, the company changed its name to NewPros Data to more accurately define its position in the marketing place. In 2003, it expanded and became NewPros Communications. NewPros Communications is located in Powell, Ohio.
