Northshore Academy of Martial Arts is an award-winning martial arts school in Libertyville. Aikidio is the main martial art offered here, but karate is also offered occasionally. The school is attached to the Northshore Fitness and Training Center.

They coach people off all ages in learning martial arts with a focus on physical fitness, character development and self defense. Chicago Martial Arts has this location and another in Mundelein. They offer children's programs, adult programs and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Hapkido, tae kwon do and tai chi are part of the curriculum. Lake Zurich Family Martial Arts is popular for its Little Ninja's program for kids, which teaches tae kwon do.
Jim Andrews, founder and head instructor at Lake Zurich Family Martial Arts, has been practicing martial arts for 30-plus years and holds four different black belts. Jim oversees the entire curriculum and continues to instruct classes to this day. Tom O'Connell has been here 10 years. Together, they instructors take training and instruction seriously while maintaining a positive atmosphere for kids and adults to achieve their goals.
This Kung Fu Academy is home to a number of different martial arts techniques that vary in skill level. The well versed instructors are experts in their fields and provide the most thorough training in the area. Classes vary by age and skill level.
