AIDS Services of North Texas, founded in 1988, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to decrease the impact of HIV and AIDS on the rural and urban communities of north Texas through prevention, care and advocacy programs. It provides housing, meals, case management, medical and nursing care, and transportation services to people suffering from the disease. The organization also offers drug counseling, HIV testing and peer and group support services. AIDS Services conducts health education and risk reduction outreach programs that provide HIV and AIDS-related materials and presentations to schools, businesses and communities. The organization assists patients with insurance plans and receives funds from Title I and II of the Ryan White Care Act program of the Health Resources and Services Administration, private companies, foundations and corporate entities. It has centers in Denton, Plano, Greenville and Rockwall, Texas and serves Collin, Hunt, Rockwall and Kaufman counties.
